Lindsey Morrissette describes herself this way:
I began practicing yoga in college after a life of being disciplined in classical ballet. I first came to yoga with a fascination about
holistic healing and soon discovered the calming nature of yoga was exactly what was missing in my life.
Soon after I found my yoga practice I found my teacher, Akasha Ellis in 2008 and completed his RYT-200 hour training through Birmingham
Yoga in December 2009. I now have a profound respect for all the different types of yoga and how each one makes you feel internally as well
as physically. I thank my two wonderful teachers, Akasha Ellis and Laura Tyree who continue to share their wealth of wisdom with me.
You are my inspiration. My classes are based on Ashtanga Yoga poses and I like to add a Vinyasa Flow for variety and movement. I begin and
end every class with deep breathing to bring awareness to the self and focus on relaxing the mind. Come join me for a physical and
rejuvenating practice! "I believe what you experience on your mat carries into your everyday life. So be balanced in your practice, bring awareness to your breath and movement, connect with your inner light and let it guide you." Lindsey teaches at the Vestavia YMCA, Birmingham Yoga (inside 1st Avenue Rocks) and Bailey Dance and is available for private/group lessons.
